Green Bay All the Way!

A few weeks ago we were watching football at mom and dad's house and Green Bay was playing and I was chanting "Green Bay All the Way!" This was of course, after the Saints had been beat and were out of the running. Gus really liked my chant and has been saying it several times a day ever since. Anytime there is a football game on he says, "Geen Bay All Way!" I guess we will be rooting for the Packers during the Superbowl! They have always been my runner-up team to the Saints so I am really looking forward to the Superbowl again this year!! And all the yummy food that comes along with Superbowl parties!!

GREEN BAY, ALL THE WAY!!

Rainy Days...

Are good for stacking every single Mega Block we own......

Are good for a nice relaxing bath, Elmo jammies and a maraca whose batteries are dying because it has been on every waking hour for over a week now!

Are good for enjoying a new big boy bed and playing a few licks on the guitar!

Are good to mimic daddy!

Are good to mimic daddy just a little bit more!! Gus, your future must be really bright!! Shades on in the house on a rainy day!! I love you, Peanut! We had a great Sunday just enjoying each other!!!

A bottle?

Lately Gus has been very vocal. He may not enunciate each and every word, but he does convey to us what he wants and will let us know if it is NOT what he wants! Today he helped me unload the dishwasher and as we were putting his cups in the cupboard he kept reaching and pointing to a bottle that I had tucked away. I gave him the bottle thinking he just wanted to play with it at his kitchen. Oh no, he had other plans. He stood at the sink pointing and raising the bottle saying something along the lines of "wa, wa, wa" that can only be water. I asked him if he wanted water in the bottle and he beamed ear to ear. I filled the bottle for him and he carried it around while I fixed lunch. Mind you he never took one sip of the water out of the bottle. After lunch he was over it and reached up and put the bottle in the sink. Not sure what that was all about, but I did get a cute picture of him and is prize possession of the day!!

Hat Head??!!

I have been trying for the past year to get Gus to wear this hat because it is so stinking cute!! The other day he comes to me with it trying to get it on his head. I was thrilled, but did not let him know until the hat was on his head! As you can see in the pictures he thinks he is so cute, as he should because Jake and I made over him so much!! He has been wearing it several times a day......some days longer than others! He did wear it during our entire shopping trip and everyone that would say how cute he would smile and look at Jake and I so proud!!! What a big boy, I just wish he would not out grow this hat.

Oh yeah, this striped sweater is the only pullover that he will wear at this moment!! I think he really likes the bright colors, and the zipper!

South Louisiana Day 3

Our last day down south was Labor Day. We had a nice relaxing day. Just visited with family and friends and munched on yummy south Louisiana food all day!

Trying to get a picture with Gus while visiting with Maw. There was just too much for him to see and do over there. He did figure out how to turn all of her lamps on. Well all of the ones with pull strings, which are all of them. He would turn them all on one by one then go back and turn them all off one by one.

Here he is making an attempt to turn that one on!

Maw gave him a music box with a blue bird on it and as soon as he saw her wind it up that was it, he too was winding it up!

Maw stealing some sweet sugars from her great-grandson!

Back at the ranch.......

Second wind???

What I would do to get a trampoline for my birthday??!! I forgot just how much I love these things....though I did not get on this one because it turns everything that touches it black. But watching Gus jump, all the memories came flooding in........Jake, take this as a hit, when in doubt, a trampoline will do!!!

Can I take your order??

weeeee.......see what I mean about the black!

Which brings us to the bath tub before dinner on this particular night. Gus looked like a chimney sweeper when he came inside he was black from his head to his toes!

Lily and Camryn flashing a smile for the camera!!

Gus and Will having a deep conversation! I love both of their expressions in this picture.
Gus is really into what Will is doing and Will seems like a big brother explaining it all to him!

Hanging out with Daddy while Mommy enjoys a few more boiled crabs!

Round 2.......

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Gusley and Marley have a wonderful friendship. Marley is the best cat ever. Just a smooth operator. Nothing gets his feathers ruffled and he loves Gusley and will go up to Gusley and swipe him with his tail to get Gus' attention. They are rather entertaining when they are together!

Apple Crack!

I had to make Apple Crack for Bunco the other night and we had some left so I decided to give Gus a taste......what is there not to like about cream cheese, powdered sugar, caramel and heath toffee bits?! He ate it with apples and with graham crackers and it was a hit!! I would spread it on for him and he would lick it off and hand me the cracker or apple and grunt and motion for more.

Christmas Morning!!!

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!!!!
Good Morning Santa Baby.......he is always such a happy baby when he wakes up in the morning......it is like he knew it was Christmas morning when he woke up!!

Hanging out in the bed with mommy and daddy....being the silly goose that he is!!

And now the fun begins......TOYS, TOYS and More TOYS!! Everywhere you look there were toys and paper and boxes and Christmas tree needles.......just the way we like it on Christmas morning!!!!!!

The very first item he goes for are his new books. That is one smart cookie!!!

Opps! I loaded this one sideways, but you get the picture right? He is pushing a little wooden truck that has four blocks and they spin as the truck rolls!!

Sitting among all his new toys from Santa and Paran!! Elmo was a hit!! I am still boggled as to why kids just go absolutely crazy over Elmo! He is darling, but my goodness, some children are just nuts about him!! "Elmo loves crayons and his goldfish too, that's Elmo's World!!"

Back to the wooden block truck!!

This is the first time he has nipple confusion! He thought his new puzzle piece was his pacifier!! Too darn cute!!

See what I mean......Confucius say? what??

All suited up and ready for Christmas Breakfast!!!!

A few more snip-its!!

Opps!! I forgot to include these in the last post! Just a few other ways we entertained Gus while at Maw's! Jake took him for a stroll down High Street. Seems like yesterday Jake and I were taking Buttercup for strolls down High Street!

Dad even took his turn and took Gus for a looong walk around the neighborhood.....bet you can't guess where they stopped?? At the local dentist....who gave Gus his first toothbrush!! Ironically, Jake and I had a toothbrush exactly like this for Gus' stocking, but someone forgot to pack their toothbrush (no names to be mentioned) so he (opps! just gave it away) had to use the one we packed for the stocking! Good thing the dentist was open on Christmas Eve!!!!!

And when all else fails....daddy's sunglasses seem to keep him happy for a little while!! (He broke mine on the way home!)

Shady Oak Park!

12.24.08 - Christmas Eve!!! We headed over to Maw's so that I could make the annual Red Velvet Cake for the party!! Again, since the house is not childproof we had to come up with fun and exciting things to do with the baby!! Since Maw lives next door to Shady Oak Park we took him to our old stomping ground and showed him the ropes!! The park is nothing like it was when I was a child running freely, swinging high into the sky and just having a good ole time. Actually, it is nothing like it was a year ago when we moved...:-(.....the slides are full of graffiti and it seems that every time we visit, yet another piece of equipment has been removed. Anyway, it was still fun to see Gusley having a good time in the swing and on the slide.

Hi mom, hi dad....swinging makes me woozy!

I love this picture, he looks like he is about 3-4 years old here!

Had to make sure and position him so that the graffiti is not in the picture.

Not sure why, but our old house is completely blocked out by Jake and I.........I was trying to get it in the shot, oh well....maybe next time!! I did manage to get Maw's house!

Popeye the Sailor Man....toot, toot!!

One of the dishes that we were assigned to make and bring down to Houma was mom's famous Spinach Madeline. I took some of the cooked down spinach and ground it up in the baby food grinder and this is the result.......HE LOVED IT!!!

Sweet eyes on the last bite!!
