Tonight is night #3 of Gus sleeping in his big boy bed! He has not slept in our bed since Friday night (Saturday night he slept with Pinki and Pops) and he started sleeping in his own bed Sunday night!! He has been taking his naps in his bed as well! Another milestone to mark in the baby book!
Not much else to report on over here today. Gus and I both have allergy issues at the moment....my nose and he has a cough, but other than that we are keeping warm and cleaning out unnecessary items. We are planning to have a huge yard sale in March...I know it is far off, but that will give us time to really do some deep cleaning!
Happy Tuesday!

Grayton Beach ~ day 5
Not a whole heck of a lot happened today...RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN! The good news is we have been enjoying being able to spend so much down time together as a family. The fact that we have know where to be and nothing to do is awesome and we are loving every minute of it!

Went for a nice drive to Panama City. I had never been so Jake wanted to show me how parts look like they are still in the 50's and 60's and then we came upon this whole new area which was like WOW! The highlight of the day, are you ready for it? We were starving and figured as soon as the rain slacked we would stop and eat. Do you know when it slacked? When we were in front of Hooter's. Do you want to take one guess at where we ate? Hooter's! I was out numbered and it just seemed fitting to eat there, I guess! The food was good, but the company was better :-)

Started the day off checking email and playing some word games!

And on our way back to Grayton, we pulled over to get a better look at this place!
Except Gus didn't get to see it.....I guess Hooter's fries were too much!

2 year well baby visit
Gus is almost a square!! 36 inches tall and 35 pounds! We went for his well baby 2 year visit today and the doctor said all looks wonderful and to keep up the good job mom and dad! Gus was a little apprehensive of the doctor at first, then he warmed up to him, but when it came time to undress and let the doctor give him a clean bill of health he lost it! In the doctor's words, "Mom, he is strong as an ox. He is 1 of 2 of my patients this age that is THIS strong. Mom, no need to workout?" There you have it folks, the boy is strong as an ox. Anyone up for a wrestling match??!!
Here is Gus in the morning before we headed out for his appointment. It is precious how he gets a book off the bookshelf and takes it to the bathroom and gets on the potty and proceeds to "read" the book!

Thank you, Dolly!!
Living here in TN Gus is automatically eligible to join Dolly Parton's Imagination Library where he gets a book a month from the organization. He has gotten some really nice books through this program. At this time, his favorite three books (besides Goodnight Moon) have come from this program! Thank you, Dolly!!
In Raindrop, Plop there is a little dog and Gus finds the dog very funny on each page!! I think I mentioned before that he knows 'eat' in sign language and there is a page that has 4 squirrels looking for something to eat and every time we get to the page before we can read it he is signing 'eat'! Smart dude!! The last page is when the sun comes out and he points and points to the sun while smiling and laughing and saying "un-un"!

In A Mud Pie for Mother Little Pig is trying to find the right gift for Mother Pig's Birthday! This by far I think is Gus' favorite as he asks us to read it over and over and over!!

Sleepy Head
I do believe that The Gus Man is going through another growth spurt!! Good news for baby, bad news for Mommy who can no longer rock him in the glider because he is soooo long! Anyway, back to my post. Last night we stayed out a little late playing with our friends and Gus went to bed for 10pm. He did not wake up until 9:30am!!!! Getting to the teenage years a little early? For nap time he was a little off and went down later than usual (2pm instead of 12pm) and he is still sleeping as I type this post (4:19pm) over two hours!! I guess he is getting his growing rest!
Rest your weary bones little sleep head! Mommy loves you!

Oysters for the 1st time.....
We went to Big Al's on our last day in Houma (the Christmas visit). Our friends Jenny and Matt joined us along with Gi-Gi, Paw, Aunt Sarah, Camryn, William and Evan. Jenny and Matt ordered char-broiled oysters and offered me one. I was feeling a little daring that day and since I have NEVER eaten an oyster in my life, I decided to give it try.............
Here I go.....

The flavor was good, but I think I have some serious texture issues, because as you can see in my face it took a lot to get it down!! At least now I can say I tried it!!!!

Naptime
I just could not resist taking a picture of this sweet baby boy during his afternoon nap!

And, of course I could not leave the princess out.....mind you she is laying right behind the baby in this position! Our camera has this little red light that comes on right before you snap the picture and it woke her up, otherwise her eyes would have been closed!!
