Gatlinburg in Pictures

Back in October, we took Gus (and Buttercup) to Gatlinburg to have a little mini vacation and to see the changing of the leaves! We had a wonderful time and Gus really enjoyed himself so much so that any time we are in the car and he sees the sign for the hotel we stayed in (which had orange comforters) he makes sure to tell us in an asking voice, "Orange Bed?" It is the cutest thing and we just chuckle and get a kick out of it every time!

He rode go-karts with Jake and I for the first time and he has been asking everyday since we are home to go ride "co-karts" so I an thinking we will be heading to the local go-kart track in the near future! Well, once it warms up a bit!

I apologize for the overload of pictures, but we had such a great time and took so many great pictures that I have to share them!!

Wild Woody...Gus' first go-kart track! It was Wild and Woody alright!

All buckled up and ready to go!

Holding Mommy's hand tight, tight!

This is just after we passed a Chick-fil-A and we can hear him whispering, "Cow House, Cow House"! It is safe to say the Chick-fil-A is his favorite place to eat! Who can blame him!

I do believe Gus got the biggest kick out of this dog on the motorbike! We all laughed out loud when we saw it and Jake had to drive right next to them so Gus could continue to laugh!!

Taking the gondola up the mountain to ride the Alpine Sled down!

Weeeeee!

Back to the Track for some more go-karts and airplane rides before heading home!

What a wonderful weekend we all had.....Gus and his sollipop just couldn't go any longer!!

Caught by surprise

Today Gus and I were busy playing when we stopped for a break and to our surprise it was SNOWING!! Not enough to stick, but it was still so pretty to watch it fall. We sat in the window in his room and looked out for quite sometime...we were both pleasantly surprised to say the least!! He now says "OWW" for snow! I guess we have had enough this year that it has stuck with him!! So it seems that there really is some truth to the groundhog.....he predicted 6 more weeks of winter and we have indeed experienced some crazy winter weather since his prediction!! I am hoping that this is the last of the surprise snowfalls and we are moving on to some Springtime weather. We have cabin fever soooooo bad it is ridiculous.

Baby its Cold Outside!!

Now that the weather is changing we have had to break out the winter wear!!

All bundled up and ready to go!!

12.01.08 - 1st Snow

Well, well, well....not even winter yet and we have had our very first snow!! No pictures to show...sorry. It did not stick very good, however, it did stick to our cat Marley. He is solid black and was covered with white specks after he went out this morning! It was absolutely beautiful looking out this morning as I changed Gus' diaper and we watched the snow falling! What a way to wake up on a Monday morning....and to not have to leave the house for work, just doesn't get much better than that! I know today was the first day it was REALLY COLD, but I am liking it because Buttercup does not waste anytime doing her business....she runs out and runs right back in!! I promise next snow, pictures will be posted :-)!!

Percy Warner Park

11.09.08 - This was one of the first COLD days we had! The three of us bundled up and headed to Nashville because Brian Wilson (Beach Boys singer/songwriter) was going to be signing records at a local record shop downtown. We got there for 1:30 he started at 1:00pm......well we are all pumped, more so Jake than myself, but regardless, we were going to get an autograph!! We get in line to be told that Mr. Wilson had requested to stop the line and not let anyone else get in line. WHAT?? He had only been signing for 30 minutes...Weirdo!! Anyway, Jake was bummed and Gus and I were bummed for him. I suggested we just ride around looking at the beautiful fall colors. I feel like a kid in a candy shop these days with the fall foliage, I have really developed a love for autumn/fall! Jake took us to the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens (we saw the entrance it was 2:00 and they close at 4:30 and it was a $10 each admission so we opted to save that for another day!) Next to that was Percy Warner Park, which we have heard so much about, we just hadn't found it yet, but today was the day!!!!

We drove in and were immediately in awe. It was just beautiful, the colors, the location, the lookout points, everything was amazing! Thanks to Brian Wilson we discovered a new favorite place! I have posted some of our favorite pictures from the day....hope you enjoy them and that the autumn colors make some of you want to come up and visit next year!!!!

This is looking down at the entrance to the park.

Again, looking down and out!

Jake and Gus at one of the trail markers. This is a tradition of Jake's that we have adopted as a family tradition of our own!

Gus and I at our first lookout....stunning!

Long and winding road....

Jake and Gus laughing at me trying to take the picture, throw leaves in the air and keep warm.....I guess I was pretty funny because they both have great smiles!!!

This is what cold, awesome weather does to me....makes me frolic in the leaves and even attempt a cartwheel!! I am fixing to cartwheel!

Gus and I playing peek-a-boo with the tree!!

Enjoying the views!

Family photo!! We love Gus' face....he is like "burrr, I'm cold and enough pictures already, sheeezz!"

Never saw this in Louisiana!

Our little leaf angel....should be too much longer and we will be posting pictures of our little SNOW angel!! Can't wait!

There were 3 pavilions like this. This one had the fireplace going and extra wood too! We decided this is a great place for birthday parties!!!!

Scenic drive

My favorite Autumn picture yet! Thanks Jake, this one is spectacular with all the many different colors!!!

Me and sleepy bones Cenac....he had had enough!!
