These days Gus doesn't miss a beat! He spent the night with Nice a few weeks ago and he watched/helped her empty the "tat poo-poo" out of the cats' litter box. Ever since then atleast once a day we have to discuss the process. Last Thursday as I was packing up our camping gear Gus took off his diaper and was just playing (I did not think anything would happen because he had already made #2 and we are pottytraining). He came to me and said "tat poo-poo"! I told him we do not have a cat. He replied "Gus poo-poo" and indeed he was correct!!
The way he says it is just hilarious and we can't help but crack up when he tells us all about "tat poo-poo"!! I love you sweet baby bear, Gusley. Please stay sweet and oh so adorable :-)!!!

Mom and Daughter Date
Mom and I had a date. We went to lunch at Pei Wei and headed downtown to the Frist to see the exhibit, "The Golden Age of Couture". We were in awe seeing some of the pieces from that era. So much detail and just beautiful pieces all done by hand and most made for particular women. I so wish I would have lived during that time. All of the pieces, well most of them had my name all over them! We were not allowed to take pictures in the museum so I kept my guidebook as a future reference! After our tour we headed over to the Pied Piper Creamery and had some ice cream! I had red velvet Elvis which was to die for and mom had Little Debbie does ice cream which she said was to die for. We will certainly be going back for more!! Thanks for such a fun day mom! I really enjoyed my time with you and thank you Jake for keeping Gus so mom and I could have a day together! I love both of you so very much!
Happy 4th Birthday, Siena!!
On September 3rd, Gus' gal pal Siena celebrated her 4th birthday and she invited us over for dinner and yummy cake! Gus had a great time playing with she and her sister and Endi! The 4 of them get along so well and they really had a great time playing together and sharing cake and ice cream!! Happy 4th Birthday, Siena! We hope you had a great day and can't wait to play Candyland with you!!
Homemade cake by her sweet momma!

I will have you know that he chose them with minimal help from momma!
SAINTS v. TITANS - 09.02.10
This was Gusley's 2nd NFL game and 1st New Orleans Saints game! We had a great time! We ate popcorn, french fries, chicken strips, cotton candy and I think I drank a gallon of Sprite! It was HOT! The plan was for Jake and his pal John to go to the game and mom and dad bought tickets to go as well. At the last minute a friend of Jake's back in LA called to see if we needed tickets. She gave him 6 club level tickets and there were 6 of us that ended up going to the game...SCORE! We thought Gus was going to need a ticket, but I guess he was just too cute that they did not question his age :-)! He lasted the entire game! I must say it is different when you are at the game and your team is the away team, but it was fun to get a rise out of the Titans fans! Though we lost it was still a good game and a great experience!

Gus and Pops waiting to meet Jake and John outside the gate.
Breesus! Breesus! He's our man!!
Sleepy head has gone to bed!
Not a life altering post here. Just wanted to record that Gus was asleep and in bed by 7:30pm tonight! He boycotted his nap today and we headed to the park when Jake got off. We made two rounds with Gus in the stroller and before we were out of the parking lot he was fast asleep! We got home and I brought him up to bed and laid with him fr a few minutes and he is fast asleep! Sleep tight little one! We love you!

Too busy with his puzzle to take a nap?!

Tubtime fun!!!
Gus and his gal pal Endi were finally able to get together and play! Play is just what they did! Today is the last day that the pool is open so we took a dip, but it was too cold for Gus! Toward the end of the swim, Gus opted to sit on my lap and watch from the side. We went back to Nice and Pop's house for some sidewalk chalk and running and digging and yummy gumbo! After the running and digging both babes needed a bath and they had the best time looking in the mirror for the drain cracking up at themselves!! Big, loud belly laughs from both of them echoed through the house! What a great way to end our nice weekend!!

Gus goes to gym - day 1
Today was Gus' first day of parent-toddler gym. He LOVED it! He was totally in his element. I am so happy that he is able to experience this at the same age I was when I was first introduced to gymnastics. I loved it from day one and I still love it....my dream gift is a square or rectangle trampoline! Anyway, back to his first day! As soon as we got there, he was looking all around watching the older kids flip and run and jump. He was fixated on them. His coach came and introduced herself to us and he would not take his eyes off of her. When it was our turn to go to the class he followed right behind Coach Tia. Once we were in the room she had a little obstacle course set up for them. In the class it was Gus and two other little boys (one older and one younger than him). He did all of the obstacles just not in order! He walked the balance beam with no trouble, went over and under some mats, did superman on the belly roll and sat in a rocker that looked like pac-man and had no fear when we rocked him all the way back! He also did an assisted handstand....he loves to be upside down! When it was time to go in the big gym the kids have to hold on to a rope and follow the teacher. He did just that. In the gym he did the zip-line, the inflatable racing lanes, foam pit, swing and trampoline! This class was a free trial, but by the end of the class Jake was asking if I brought the check book so we could sign him up! To see the excitement on his face and how much he enjoyed the class will be so worth the monthly tuition. Not to mention he ate like a champion when we got home and he was oh so ready for bed!
Though he did not follow the directions just so, the Coach did tell us not to fret that the first few classes are like that, then they start to get the hang and really want to follow and do as the others do! As for now it is a go. I will be sure to let you know how next week goes!
