Daddy's hand me downs....

The two outfits Gusley is wearing in the pictures below are from when Jake was a baby. I just love putting Gus in his daddy's old outfits!! Unfortunately these are the only two left that fit him at this time....but, rest assured, at the rate he is growing, he will be wearing his daddy's "jams" in the very near future.......

Tinkering under the hood of his car!

His favorite spot in the yard! Well, used to be....now that the slide is out there, Buttercup's post is potted meat!

I think he looks like a little prince in the picture!

Isn't this outfit just darling?? It is an all in one but made to look like overalls with the shirt underneath. Why don't they make outfits like this anymore? So cool and comfy and ohh so soft!

Back at the drain spout.....looking for the itsy bitsy spider??

This little outfit is adorable.....ROOKIE!!

Such a giddly little Rookie!

It has been toooo long....

Ok, so where do I even begin?? It has been entirely too long since I last blogged, I mean really blogged and not just a back blog....I think I have been in a little funk/rut, but am on my way out and figured I needed a little blogging therapy!! So here I am, back in blog mode.....first things first, the Easter Bunny brought Stuart Little for Gusley and he LOVES it!! It is his first "favorite movie" if you will!! Gusley still only has 6 teeth at 14 months old, but eats like he has a mouthful!! He gave his nu-nu to the Easter Bunny (actually about a week earlier) but he gave it to him and has not asked or even tried to suck on the one he found in the car!! We are so proud of him and what a big boy he is becoming!! I am still nursing him and some nights it is like he is 6 weeks old again, but I remind myself that he will only be the age once and I have to cherish it!We are in our new house now, our first night was April 1, so we are closing in on a month and it has been great!

In the past month we have been super busy hosting family, having dinner with friends, going to the zoo, Easter egg hunts, caves, cooking, swimming, unpacking, hanging pictures, etc. but all seems to be in place here at the Cenac residence!! We have my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to thank for that because they came for a visit on April 10th and so it was crunch time for us to get everything in order and in place so everyone would have a place to sleep! Thanks for making the visit, Gi-Gi and Sarah and kiddos!!

We just found out that our really good friends Candice and Alex are expecting!!!!! Congrats to the both of you! We know this is something you guys wanted and could not be happier for you both!!! We are hoping to see them in June when they are in Gatlinburg...a good excuse to go to Gatlinburg for a weekend!!

We also found out last night that Cory, Gusley's godfather, will be flying for his first time and is coming up for a visit in 2 weeks!!! He and Jake are going to see their favorite band from "back in the day" in Chicago!! We can't wait to see Parrin Cory, we miss him tremendously and I know Jake will be happy to have a friend in town!!

We are now counting the days until Aunt Beth makes her arrival!! She will be spending a long weekend with us and will meet Gusley for the first time!! We can't wait and will be sure to have lots of good laughs while she is here!!

With family in town and just having moved in to our new house I totally forgot to blog about Gusley's 14 month birthday! It was on the 14th of April, he is just a little babbling baboon these days! He says ball, mama, da (pause) da, lurttle lurttle lurttle, like his is rolling his tongue it is very cute and he does it even more when he is excited!! He knows what he wants and will make sure that Jake and I know this and adhere to his plan! He points to the door to go outside and he will point to what he wants to eat out of his plate of food. He tries to say Buttercup, but he gets butt and then begins to babble! His smile is priceless and he just started this new "shy" face! He has been clapping for the song "If your happy and you know it...." and when he does a little "trick" or something new he will look at us and clap and want us to clap along with him, so we do!!! He is a ball of energy, that is so irresistible and I could just smother him in kisses all day long, but we have to cook and clean and nap in between, which leads me to say that he is still taking two good naps a day! (Mommy really enjoys this!) He knows where his nose and eyes are and he likes to point out where ours are too!

Gusley really loves his little gal pal Endi! They are just adorable to watch play together. They will be doing/playing with the same object then one will venture off to something else and the other is not far behind the first one to venture off. It is just amazing as to how well the play together. We spent almost all day this past Sunday together and they just had the best time frolicking in a field together "chasing" a.k.a following each other around! I am amazed how much this little critter has grown in the last 14 months and am looking forward to the next 14 months and the next and the next......!!

Gusley, you are the most important person in Mommy and Daddy's entire life and we love you unconditionally and are so proud of you and all your accomplishments thus far!! Keep rockin little man!!

Easter Morning

Happy Easter everyone!!! This is the new "shy" face that Gusley likes to do!! He stayed here for a few moments then headed to his basket!!

The ball that we just HAD to get because the man at the toy store said it was the new crave and 3 women were like "oh yeah, you HAVE to get that, it is such a great toy." Yeah, ok, we bought the darn thing just to see if it were true and I do not think he has touched it since the picture!!

His very own and very first waterwheel!!

And a new toothbrush!

Some cookies and bath toys from Aunt Sandy, Uncle Matt, Lily and Canon.....

And some really neat new books from Gi-Gi and Paw.....

Camryn and William looking for the golden egg!!

Evan thinks he has spotted the golden egg??!!

Gusley with egg #1 and as soon as he found egg #2 he was done. One in each hand is all he needed!!

See the two eggs in his hands??

The hunters showing off their eggs!!

Easter Eggs and Basket....

This was the first time in years that I dyed Easter Eggs!! I forgot how much fun it was....I felt like I was a 12 year old with my niece and two nephews. After eating some yummy crawfish and crabs from Mr. Kenneth, we cleaned the kitchen and got Gus down and then it was dye time!! I bought the $0.99 kit and Sarah bought the $3.98 kit....let's just say that Sarah's was far more elaborate than mine. (My dye tablets did not dissolve, I guess that is why it was so cheap!) Here are the finished products.....

Sarah's kit even had sponge stamps and paint so I put a small bunny on Gus' egg, then I realized it looked like the playboy bunny, take a close gander and see for yourself. Seriously, the playboy bunny in an egg dying kit? I guess times are really changing.

The bunny's basket for Gusley!!!

Easter Bunny 2009

I decided that $20 bucks for 2, that is correct, 2 pictures with the Easter Bunny was a little much. We paid it last year and Gusley, at 5 weeks old looked like he had just stepped out of the tanning bed. He loved the bunny and walked right up to him to have his picture taken. He was very interested in the folks walking around on the second floor and paid no mind to the older lady taking the pictures and squeaking the rabbit at him! I did manage to get a few good shots of him and the bunny!! I do not think he realized he was on the bunny's lap until we took him off and he turned around and saw the bunny...then he really smiled.
