It's a bird, it's a plane, nope it's a hot air balloon!!!
This is a little back blogging. A few weeks ago, Gus and I were coming home from Mom and Dad's house and this is what we saw. I decided to follow it because it was really low and looked like they were going to be landing it in the neighborhood and that they did!!!

Later that day Endi came over to spend a little time with Gus. They haven't seen each other as much since Endi started school so when they do get together there is lots to catch up on!! I just love this picture, both in their boots and Gus is trying to convince Endi to put her drink down and play!!!!
About to touch down.....
Almost there.....
Touchdown is made!! After seeing this Jake and I have decided that maybe for our 30th birthday we will take a ride in one!! Stay tuned to see if we actually go through with it (we only have 3 years to contemplate)!!

Well Baby Visit - 15 months at 16 months
Wednesday the 24th, Jake and I took Gus for his 15 month well baby visit (although he made 16 months on the 14th of June!). He was a little out of sorts and had not taken his usual morning nap, but did manage to fall asleep on our way to the doctor. He stayed asleep until they put him in the seat to weigh him, then it was time to lay him down for his height measurement....not good, not good at all. We managed to keep him happy with Cheerios, Fruit Loops, Water and 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, but it was no easy task. The doctor came in and said he weighs 27.8 pounds which puts him in the 80th percentile; he is 34 inches tall which puts him in the 97th percentile and he is in the 94th percentile for his head circumference! All good news to us! He said everything looks good and that he is doing just fine for me to stop worrying that he only has 8 teeth, and that as long as he is not eating chicken nuggets and chocolate milk his eating habits should be fine. (I asked him what is considered "normal" eating habits at this age b/c some days he eats way better than others and his response was no chicken nuggets and chocolate milk everyday!) Gus has had nuggets, but no chocolate milk. He asked if I was still nursing and I told him YES! He seemed to be pleased with that and said to keep it up, so that put a few more worries to rest. Then it was time for his shots. Thank goodness Jake was with us the last time and again this time, because this is sooooooo hard for me. The more Gus cries the more I have to hold back my tears. He was so upset this time that he was having to catch his breath and would have those long inhales and then a shaky exhale, pitiful, that is all I can say.
This was also a big day for Jake and I as we finally got a Tennessee Tag for the Element! We have been here almost 2 years and have not changed our plate, but we are official TN residents now. Jake did not want me to post about this, but it was too cute Gus helping his change out the plates, how could I not??
Later in the day we had supper then headed down to Franklin for an evening play date with Endi. It is just too hot during the day to take them out to the park so we went for a stroll to the park and saw TONS and TONS of lightening bugs and/or fireflies (whichever you choose to call them!) Endi and Gus had a great time playing and the mommies and daddies had a great time catching up and visiting. This was the first time that Gus actually liked the swing and lasted for more than 2 minutes! We took him out and he pointed and motioned to get back in!! Being that he is so tall so young, we may be riding some rides before long!!!!! I can't wait for that day!!!!
Well that about sums up our Wednesday, oh yeah, one last note, my little cousin Aimee turned 16 on the 24th so we hope she had a great sweet 16. I can't believe she is already 16, makes me feel old, since I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.

Happy, Happy, Happy times!
I do not remember exactly when these were taken, but I would venture to say back in January....since Gus' teeth are barely showing through his gums in the second picture!! I think this was for the Inauguration Dinner we had with our dear friends to celebrate our new President!!

He and Endi just play so well together, they are such good little buddies!!

Christmas in Slidell, LA
Our last night in Louisiana for Christmas was spent with our dear friends. Nash and Gus really had a great time together and we had a great time with Lee and Jenn as well!!!! Jenn and I took the "kids" for their first beignets, but we got there and the place has only 1 highchair...imagine the mess had we let them eat that on our laps!! And the chocolate milk (we saw the huge container of Nestle Quik and a gallon of milk) cost $3.55 for a small.....we decided we could make our on chocolate milk at home. Once we got home, we ate the beignets and the "kids" played!! They never got to try them!! More for the mommas!!

Sweet Nashie-Boy!!

A day in the Dell....Slidell, LA
A little more back-blogging.....After all the Christmas festivities we headed to Slidell for a visit with our good friends Lee, Jenn and Nash, where we spent the night and let the children laugh and play the day away!! Gusley and Nash are almost a month apart and they play very, very well together!! We really miss not being closer to them so that the boys can grow up together. Below are some pictures of the little rascals playing together in the kiddie corral!!!

USA Baby Playdate
A few weeks ago we met Amanda, Tyler and Endi over at USA Baby for a playdate in the giant indoor playground that is FREE!! We were able to test drive all the little cars and play on the many different jungle gyms/swing sets....lots of fun was had by both the kiddies and the 'rents!!

Gus modeling his special present from Endi.....cool, keeps his head nice and warm stylin blue hat!! Thank you very much Endi and family, he has worn it almost everyday since!!!

Here goes Gus, giving the car a test drive......standing and driving!! WOW!

Mommy and Gusley going down the slide.....his interest is obviously somewhere else!!!

For whatever reason Gus was in rare form when we placed he and Endi in this swimming pool to play....he was all over in the darn thing. Amanda, this picture is for you.....you said you could not stop laughing at him in the pool :-)!!
Gus is still just a wee bit small for this car!!
But these cars were just he and Endi's size! Here is Endi giving it a go!

Ham Festival
10.04.08 - Did I mention that up here there is a festival for EVERYTHING??? Well there is!! Very interesting!! Last year mom and I went to the Ham Festival and it was pretty nice, so we decided to take the little mister out since the weather was awesome and it was just 5 bucks per car to get in. We got there and met up with our friends Amanda, Tyler and Endi which was very cool! We strolled around the grounds and got free samples of well, HAM!! and we were hassled to join this church, vote for this guy, drink this juice twice a day and you will be healed from all medical mishaps you may have, etc....so we all decided it was fun, but a play date may be more fun!!
Gus offered to drive us down to the ham festival....we declined for obvious reasons!!

Mr. Cool, enjoying the ride!
Gus and Endi cheering on the pig races!!
Thanks to Amanda I now know exactly how to wear my sling so that it is hands free!!! Yay!! Thanks Amanda!!
Did I mention the play date was at 11 pm?? We went over to watch a movie and both babies were already sleeping by 7:00 so we had adult time to eat, watch part of a movie and visit then the two babies woke and were happy to see each other!! Endi a little more excited than Gus, but he hung in there!!
