Hoppy hoppy Easter!

Mabel is not a fan of head ornaments, but is certainly a fan of E.B.! Here she is for her first time with the bunny! Though the kids are not looking, they were a fan! I have a much better picture of Gus...give me a few months and it will be on here!

I just love the picture of Gus writing his letter to the bunny! He wrote his entire first and last name and connected all the letters! Then had me write the official letter! Such a little sweetheart!

In other news, Mabel has her very first runny nose :-( She is still a trooper, but gets aggravated with the snot. Thankfully it is clear and she let's us spray saline and use the bulb to clear it. I am thinking it is allergies...family history of that and tis the season for everything to bloom!

I better get some rest so I can keep up with the candy overload!

Thoughts on bacon....

If someone would have told me ten years ago that I would ask my husband to please fry me up some bacon for supper, I would have called them a liar and turned my nose up.

I have to admit, I have always loved the smell of it, but my texture issues have always prevented me from eating it.

When I was pregnant for Gus, my dad got the chicken chipotle sandwich at Panera Bread and I tasted it (unbeknownst to me there was bacon on it). It was love at first bite! From then on I craved the sandwich. The craving was just as strong while pregnant with Mabel.

Sunday morning Jake fried some bacon for breakfast, I had a bite and let me just say OH.MY.GOODNESS! I only had two pieces and it did not quite satisfy the craving so Monday night we were trying to decide on supper and we said at the same time BACON! It was devine, but I am still craving it!

I am so glad that I am now realizing how much I like it and not while I was pregnant because I would have eaten my weight in bacon during those 9 months...that my friends is a fact!!

Chomp, chomp, chomp!

Nearly 9 months old and her first tooth pops out!! Bottom right, front and center! "Kitten", Mabel's nickname that Gus and I call her because of her many kitten like features, squealing, grunting, kneading, and our favorite...her kitten breath - to name a few, has been very adventurous when it comes to food. Eager to try just about anything! She started out with a biscuit a few weeks ago....she swiped a piece of mine and since then she has tried hamburger, cheese, carrots and potatoes, waffles - which I think are her favorite, banana and bread. She still loves her baby food which is fine by me.

This afternoon I was playing with her in my bed and I put my finger in her mouth to have a feel around. To my surprise I felt the little needles on her bottom gum! I thought I felt so
Etching on her top gum too, but I think that is just the separator! I started singing and clapping a put her new tooth and she started clapping with me and bouncing and smiling! She was just as proud! When Jake got home we showed him and she was still just so very proud! Now we know what was going on last night....here's to a better night of sleep tonight!!

For now we will continue to chomp!
