Sticker boy

Sunday while we were watching the Saints game, mom pulled out some stickers from Halloween for Gus to play with. Jake put one on him and this is what that one sticker led to..........

Also, this is his new attire....a diaper! In order for a nap to be had, Gus must remove EVERY article of clothing except his diaper. I can't blame him and he has been sleeping for almost 2 hours at nap time so I am not forcing clothing at nap time!

The Cat NOT in the Hat!

Gus has been obsessed with Cat in the Hat and that is all he could talk about and anytime we discussed his costume it always went back to Cat in the Hat. Halloween day I made him this shirt and he was going to wear it with black pants and his Cat in the Hat converse. Like everything with a 2 year old IT DID NOT GO AS PLANNED.

THE SHIRT

DRAWING HIS "HISKAS"!

Looks like his is really liking the idea of being Cat in the Hat, right???

WRONG! This ended up being his costume....the #2, as in a 2 year old! Perfectly fitting for everything!

30 months = 2.5 Years old!!

Where do I even start? Two and a half! WOW!! This is a very fun age to say the least! Gus is a little chatterbox these days. He is now making sentences and we can understand a good bit of what he tells us! I can understand most because I am home with him everyday so I am catching on to his lingo! It seems like yesterday he was a wee little munchkin. Here are his achievements thus far, likes, dislikes and so on!

He is a walking, running, jumping, climbing, chattering, snack lovin', nose pickin', dirt diggin', swinging, sliding, giddy, giggly, music lovin' little boy who loves a good book and lots of kisses and hugs! He is a typical little boy made of snakes and snails and puppy dog tails, but I would not have it any other way!

He knows every letter of the alphabet (upper and lower case). He knows his numbers 1-10 and will often recite them while playing with his toys. He has better rhythm and knack for music than his momma will ever have! I am so glad he was blessed with that trait! He loves to dance (sway his hips in a funky little motion).

Books of the moment: Skuffy the Tugoat, Pigeon has Feelings Too!, Richard Scary - Cars and Trucks and things that Go, Little People at the Barn Yard, Sergio the Penguin, Timothy Tiger's Terrible Toothache (at Nice and Pop's house), Cat in the Hat, Bears Vacation and One Fish, Two Fish! There are plenty more!

Shows of interest: Cat in the Hat Knows a Thing About That, Thomas the Train, Yo Gabba Gabba, Toot & Puddle, Olivia, Super Why, Franklin, The Wiggles, Play with Me Sesame & Moose and Zee (though they are not a show, he loves their little shows between shows!)

Toys he can't live without: PLAY-DOH, colors, markers, stickers, glue, glitter, chalk, trains and trucks and sometimes Roo (his little kangaroo)! He is very much into the arts these days, which I so love to do with him. He has re-discovered his rocking giraffe and kitchen and has been having a grand ole time with his wooden blocks.

Books and Puzzles are not really a toy so they get their own little blurb: He LOVES them both. I got out my 10-25 piece puzzles from when I was younger and he will build them over and over again....all with out any help from us! It is amazing to watch him work these puzzles. Some of them are a little difficult, but he doesn't give up and when it is complete he is so proud to show us his work!

He is talking more and more each day. Currently Gus is obsessed with gas tanks on cars or as he calls it "ass anks"! Combining lots of word to make sentences and is telling us what he wants and if we do not understand him he promptly tells us NO!

I find the following very funny:

Nice House, Pop House, Mom House, Dad House....that could be a Dr. Suess book!
Ass car go....Gas in the car so it can go!
Tat Hat....Cat in the Hat!

He spells any and everything he sees. The other day we were at a red light and he started spelling P-U-B-L-I-X. It took me a few seconds to realize what he was spelling because the sign was a good 50-75 yards away. He can spell Nice, Pop, Mom, Dad, Stop, Gus, Gas, Cat all by himself!

Pottytraining, oh pottytraining.....let's just say it is just that, POTTYTRAINING!! It is a work in progress, but hopefully we are getting closer to being diaper free! Suggestions and tips are welcomed!

I am sure I am forgetting a few milestones, but pictures post are sure to come!!

Grayton Beach ~ day 6

Yep, another rainy day! We decided to swim in the rain...that did not last too long as it was rather chilly considering the sun hasn't shown in 3+ days! Little Mr. Turtle hanging out waiting for the rain to go away!

Mommy, I think it stopped!

All the boys in the house sitting in age order, and no, we did not sit them like that. It is where they landed after showers!! Check out how Gus is looking at his Paran Cory in this picture!!

Good ol' Teenie came to the rescue with sand art! She save baby food jars during the months leading up to the trip and she brought sand back from the beach and we bought some food coloring and baked the sand to dry it out then colored it and there ya have it...sand art!! Gus had the best time helping mix the colors. He was more interested in that than he was making his "art"!

After dinner we headed over to see the family at the State Park. Jake spending some time with his niece and nephews and Gusley.....talking about NASA, stars or something to that effect with Evan no doubt!!

Viv and her uncle Jake!! Gus in the background with the beer box using it as a fan for the fire just like uncle Danny!

Reading up on the contents of beer??

Lucas being Lucas!!! Such a little hambone!!

My picture of the moon taken by none other than my amazing husband!! I tried and tried and tried again to get this picture and he did it in about 3 clicks! Thanks, babe'!

Artist at work

Gus has really been enjoying his new outside desk. He brings his chair back and forth from the log cabin to the desk depending on what he wants to do. Here is the process of creating a masterpiece.....bring the chair to the desk, finger paint, put some finger paint in your mouth and run and wa la, there you have it!

Proud as a little Peacock!!

Gus and his little gal pal have been missing each other lately so this weekend we spent Saturday evening with she and her Mommy (while the daddy's were out and about) and then Sunday we all got together and went to Jumpzone. I think I love Jumpzone just as much if not more that Gusley does!! It is so much fun jumping on the inflatables and going down the slides and through the obstacle courses! I would love to get one for the back yard!!! (Hint, hint Daddy-O)!!

On Saturday evening Gus and Endi were having the best time playing together. Gus is drawn to all things art so he went straight to Endi's easel and got busy! This is his prize drawing!! Can you see the feeling of accomplishment on his little sweet face??!!!
