Farmer Brown

Gus really enjoys going to Pinki and Pops' house! Especially on watering day! He is a really big helper except that he likes to make sure the plants have PLENTY of water before moving on!!!! Hopefully he has a greener thumb than me!

Rainy Days...

Are good for stacking every single Mega Block we own......

Are good for a nice relaxing bath, Elmo jammies and a maraca whose batteries are dying because it has been on every waking hour for over a week now!

Are good for enjoying a new big boy bed and playing a few licks on the guitar!

Are good to mimic daddy!

Are good to mimic daddy just a little bit more!! Gus, your future must be really bright!! Shades on in the house on a rainy day!! I love you, Peanut! We had a great Sunday just enjoying each other!!!

Why Hello, Mr. Postman

I have been withholding myself from blogging about the photographer that took Gusley's 1 year pictures (4 month, 8 month & 12 month) for quite sometime. Nearly a year to be exact. We have been patiently awaiting the arrival of the panel of pictures from this session and were told we would have them by the 15th. I guess the photographer's 15th and my 15th are two different days because it got here today, the 19th. Anyway, that is not the point of this post. It requires its own post.

The point of this post is this. As you all are well aware we are in the thick of potty training over here. Today was say no to diaper day for Gusley. Anytime I asked him if he wanted a diaper or big boy training undies he pointed to the undies!! Yay! He did wear a diaper for nap time because I am really not interested in washing sheets two and three times a day, so, for now, diapers at nap.

After his nap we had lunch and he was just moseying around the house in his diaper and Elmo pajama shirt (that he could not bear to take off)! It was at this time that I look out the window and see the postman shuffling around in his car......YAY, our package is here! I anxiously open the door before he gets to the stoop and at that point Gus comes around the door in just his Elmo shirt. Yep, he had taken his diaper off and was at the door to greet the postman! The poor postman just laughed and simply said, "well it is hot out, isn't it?" Yes, it is, but we are INSIDE!

Needless to say Gus stayed at the door waving bye-bye and telling the postman bye-bye until he was back in his car finishing the route. Never a dull moment, NEVER!

New hot spot at the house

We have converted the crib into a toddler bed and it seems to be a great new resting spot. Though Gus hasn't slept in it yet, he will lay in the bed and read. He loves getting settled in, putting his head on the pillow, covers up to his chin and then proceeds to fake snore with his eyes open. It is a pretty cute routine he has.

He is not the only one enjoying the new area.......

Trac-tor

Today we were looking out the window and a tractor was driving down our street, I said to Gus, "look at the tractor" and he looked at me and said, "trac-tor"! This made me smile! I told him how proud I was of him and he said it again with the biggest, proudest smile.

A little later today we were having crackers and he looked at me as said, "crack-er" with his precious smile! I think there is a pattern....words ending in "ER" or "OR" seem to be the words of the week. Keep up the good work Gusley. Mommy and Daddy just love to hear your little voice!

Last night Jake was going over the alphabet with Gus and he wasn't sure of "B" and "C", but after Jake sounded it out to him several times he got it so that makes 15 out of 26!

We went to the grocery store last night and stopped at my parents' house to drop some pictures off and on our way home he pointed out every zero on every speed limit sign and every "O" on every stop sign. We told him it says "two zero, twenty" and he would repeat, "ooo, oohhh"!

13 out of 26 ain't bad!!

Today I decided to test Gusley's alphabet knowledge. I wrote out all the letters and then went over them with him and put a check above each one that he knew. He recognized and said 13 out of 26!!!! Let's just say I am one proud Momma! We also worked on stick people (circles and lines). Here is our masterpiece of the day!!

A day early

I know I am posting these after the terrible flood here in Nashville, but they were actually taken the day before the flooding started. Not sure if Gus knew what was in store in the coming days, but he was prepared!!!

My Momma!

Seems as though all I hear these days is "my Moooooooooomma" or "Mooooomma"! I must admit, I LOVE IT!! For the longest time Gusley would not say Momma, but now he just can't seem to get enough of it!

His other favorite word is "poo". Yes, poo. Today with all the flooding and rain his baby pool filled up with water and Jake and I were commenting on it and he overheard us and was walking around the house pointing to his bottom saying poo, poo! And I think every time he poots he says it too! It looks like a lot of false alarms are in the near potty training future!!!
